Paper Pumpkin Alternate Project – November 2020

The November 2020 Paper Pumpkin Jolly Gingerbread Kit is a cute, gingerbread-themed kit containing enough supplies to create 15 gift card holders and coordinating envelopes. The Coordinating colors for this month’s kit are: Cinnamon Cider, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, Shaded Spruce, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White.

This month was really hard for me. I never have enough gift card holders because they are so great for last minute gifting. I really wanted to use all of the pieces for the gift card holders for their intended purpose. My alternate project is a full-sized card using only a couple of stamps from the kit.

My card started with a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. I embossed a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. Then using another 4″ wide piece of Whisper White Cardstock I cut two rolling hills and two small trees from the Pine Woods Dies. The rolling hills were adhered to the bottom of the embossed piece, then the whole card front was attached to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the house image first with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I used various Stampin’ Blends to color the house with the exception of the roof and fussy cut the house image. Then I stamped only the rooftop portion of the house image with Versamark and heat embossed the image with White Embossing Powder. The white roof was also fussy cut and adhered to the roof of the colored house piece to create the look of a house with a snow covered roof. The two trees were adhered to the house and house image with trees were attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Real Red Cardstock, heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and cut to size. The sentiment was also attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the finishing touches, I adhered a few snowflakes and spritzed the card front with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.
