Paper Pumpkin Alternate Project – May 2020

The May 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit gives an exciting sneak peak into Stampin’ Up!’s new In Colors for 2020-2022. This kit is full of beautiful happy colors and includes all the supplies needed to make eight full sized cards and four note cards; three different designs. It also includes envelopes with coordinating patterned flaps. These cards are sure to brighten anyone’s day!

The designs weren’t quite my style, but with so many beautiful elements included in this kit it was so easy to come up with something that I was happy with. For my alternate card this month, the only paper I used was included in the kit and I only used a couple extra supplies and tools which most card makers generally have on hand.

The elements from the May 2020 kit I used on this month’s card are the card bases, the bakers twine, the cloud scrap from the cloud punch-outs (more detail to follow), the ink spot, the adhesives, and the stamps.

I used two of the full sized cards with the rainbow front. One was used as my card base with the rainbow side as the back of the card and the plain white side as the front of my card. The second card was used to create the two pieces I attached to the white card front, a rainbow patterned piece and a plain white piece.

I stamped my sentiment using VersaMark on the white piece of card stock and heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder. Then I used the cloud scrap paper that was left after I punched out the cloud pieces as a template and placed it over the area with the embossed sentiment. I inked a sponge dauber with the Misty Moonlight ink spot and daubed the color on over the sentiment inside the cloud template. All pieces were attached using glue dots from the kit and, finally, the twine bow was added.
