Paper Pumpkin Alternate Project – April 2020

How timely is this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit? The April 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit is all about family. May and June bring us special days for a couple of family members and this kit has you covered! The My Wonderful Family card kit includes all the supplies needed to make eight full sized cards with envelopes; four cards of two different designs. Both card designs are created using some fun folds and the scored card stock pieces make it simple. The envelopes included have coordinating patterned flaps.

With Mother’s Day approaching, I decided to use elements of this kit to create a sweet Mother’s Day card. However, there are so many more uses for the stamps included in this kit. For my alternate card, I have used several elements from the My Wonderful Family kit as well as a few items I had within my supply stash of current Stampin’ Up! products.

When creating alternate cards or projects from a Paper Pumpkin kit, I try to use as many elements from the kit as possible. The elements I used on this month’s card are the branch of leaves, butterflies, pearls, label, stamps, and the Pear Pizazz ink spot. This kit also came with plenty of mini glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The card front that is attached to the card base was created by using an embossing folder. Then, I dabbed a sponge on the Whisper White Stampin’ Pad and lightly rubbed the inked sponge onto the raised areas of the embossed piece. It really helped the pattern pop.
