Around the World on Wednesday – March 2022

Welcome to March’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme this month is “Layer Up”. We’ll be sharing projects with lot’s of layers, and while my projects generally include multiple layers, my challenge to myself is to get more creative with them. I can’t wait to see what this team comes up with this month!

My AWOW project this month features one of my favorite bundles. It seems that I can’t get enough of Artfully Layered Bundle from the current mini catalog. My color palette is Basic White, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Pool Party.

The Prep: I started by attaching adhesive sheets to pieces of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party card stock. Then, I die cut a couple of leaves from the Tropical Layered Dies from each color. The adhesive backed leaves were attached to a sheet of Basic White card stock and a rectangle section was cut using a Stitched Rectangle Die. I heat embossed my sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder and cut it to my desired size.

Putting it all together: A 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of vellum was attached to a standard sized Coastal Cabana card base. I wrapped a piece of white twine around the layered leaf piece and attached it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then finished tying a bow with the twine. Then, I attached the sentiment piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals; a single layer of Dimensionals on the left side of the piece and a double layer of Dimensionals on the right side. The final touch was to add the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
