Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – February 2022
Welcome to the February 2022 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! This month’s theme is a “Color Challenge”. We will be using Blushing Bride, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Bumblebee and Garden Green; all or any combination of three. We were also able to pair our color combination with a neutral; Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake. Color challenges are a great way to create with color combinations that you may not normally use and sometimes gives you a new favorite color combo.
The color combination I chose is Blushing Bride, Bumblebee, and Polished Pink. My card features the Artfully Layered Bundle; Artfully Layered Stamp Set and the Tropical Layers Dies. This month I needed a larger card so I went with a slimline card. These are great for a card from a group of people such as a co-worker birthday or when you just need a little more space for your layout. They fit into a standard business letter envelope.
The prep: I started by die cutting my leaves and leaf details in my chosen colors. I also die cut a bunch of leaf details in Basic White. All of my leaf details were cut with the adhesive sheets attached. Then all the leaf details were attached to card stock; the colored ones attached to the colored leaves and the Basic White leaf details attached to a 3 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock. My sentiment was heat embossed on Basic Black card stock using Versamark and white embossing powder. A faux twine bow was attached to the back of the sentiment piece.
Putting it all together: The Basic White piece with the leaf details was attached to a Basic White slimline card base. The colored leaf die cuts were attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Sentiment was attached with glue dots and the polished dots were added to complete the card.
