Around the World on Wednesday – November 2021
Welcome to November’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme this month is “Favorite Month”. The possibilities for this theme and the inspiration from the projects is endless. I am so excited to see what month the members of our team chose and why.
It was really hard for me to pick a month. I like many months for different reasons. But because Christmas is so close, I chose December. It really is one of my favorite months and I love all that comes with it; the music, decorations, family and friends, and the spirit of sharing and giving. The sentiment from my card really sums up how I feel this time of year, “May the love of the season warm your home and fill your heart.”
My project this month features, the Whimsical Trees Bundle (the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set and the Christmas Trees Dies), the Layering Circles Dies, and the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). The color pallette is: Mossy Meadow, Polished Pink, Blushing Bride and Basic White.
I started by die cutting all my pieces. The circle was cut from a piece of Basic White cardstock (CS) and the scalloped circle from Blushing Bride CS. The tree pieces were cut cut from the DSP, Mossy Meadow CS, and Polished Pink CS. The trick for easy assembly of the intricate die cut pieces is to apply the adhesive sheets to the CS and DSP before cutting. Then I stamped my sentiment on the Basic White Circle and attached three small trees, one small tree was attached with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Then the entire piece was attached to the scalloped piece. The Mossy Meadow trees were attached to the card front piece (a 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow CS). A 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ DSP was attached to he back of the card front piece so that 1/4″ of the DSP is showing.
Putting it all together: A piece of white twine was wrapped around the card front piece and tied into a bow, then the entire card front piece was attached to the Mossy Meadow card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment piece was attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and, lastly, Elegant Faceted Gems were added to the sentiment piece.
