Global Design Project Challenge #GDP292
Earlier this week I took a break to do some mid-week stamping. Inspiration for one of my cards came from the Global Design Project (GDP) Challenge #292. This week the challenge is to CASE a card by Susan Wong from New Zealand, a talented member from the GDP team.
To CASE is to copy and selectively edit. For my project I copied Susan Wong’s layout and edited the colors, stamps, and embellishments. I featured the Biggest Wish Photopolymer Stamp Set, the Layering Circles Dies, and the new Checks & Dots Embossing Folder. My color palette for this card is: Granny Apple Green, Smoky Slate, Basic Black and Basic White.
I started by using using the hinge technique with the Stamparatus to stamp “Happy” in Smoky Slate and Granny Apple Green on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I cut out three circles from the stamped piece using 3 different sizes from the Layering Circles Dies. For the sentiment, I stamped “Birthday” with Versamark on Basic Black cardstock, heat embossed it using white embossing powder, and cut it to size. The texture comes from the dots embossed on a piece of 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock.
The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock scored and folded at 5 1/2″. I attached the dry embossed piece to the right side of the card front and wrapped black and white twine around the front three times, finishing it up with a bow. The stamped pieces were attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. As a final touch, I attached some Matte Black Dots.
Many thanks to Susan Wong and the Global Design Project Team!
