Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – April 2021
Welcome to the April 2021 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! This month’s theme is “Birthdays”. You can never have too many birthday cards on hand as there always seems to be a friend, co-worker, or family member whose birthday is just around the corner. My daughter also finds it handy to have a crafter for a mom when she needs a quick card.
I decided to give an unused stamp set some love, the In Bloom Photopolymer Stamp Set. This set also has a coordinating set of dies, Pierced blooms. As I was playing with design ideas, I found that I loved the pierced look of the die cut pieces so very much that I ended up making them the focus of my card. The only stamp that I used was the birthday sentiment. My color palette for this card is: Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, black, and white.
This card was super simple to put together. First, I did all of my die cutting and stamping. From a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Petal Pink cardstock I cut three flowers with stems. Then, I cut a variety of flowers and stems from Basic White, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral pieces of cardstock. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Versamark on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I trimmed the sentiment piece to size.
The card base is Basic White, standard sized. To the front of the based, I adhered the 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ that I initially die cut. This piece was intended to be used as a “negative” so that Basic White card base shows through. I attached various colored flowers and stems with either the multipurpose glue, a glue dot, or a Stampin’ Dimensional for layers of varying heights. By attaching some of the flowers with a glue dot, I could curl up the petals. The sentiment was attached with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the finishing touch was adding sequins in random spots.
