Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – May 2021
Welcome to the May 2021 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! This month’s theme is “All Things Floral”. There are some amazing new florals in the new catalog. I chose a super versatile stamp set for this month’s hop project and just in time for Mother’s Day.
The Color & Contour Photopolymer Stamp set is a two-step stamping set. It actually comes with a coordinating set of dies, Scalloped Contours Dies, but I opted not to use them and kept things a bit more simple for my project. My color palette for this card is: Polished Pink, Evening Evergreen, Daffodil Delight, and Basic White.
I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock (3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″). I stamped the floral images in Polished Pink using a “stamp off” method as this color is bold. I also used the “stamp off” method for the leaves for the same reason. I used the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend marker to add dots of color to the centers of the flowers. To create the Polished Pink splatters, I squeezed the closed stamp pad to get ink on the lid. Then, I used a water painter to pick up ink from the lid and flicked the water painter to get drops of color. Once this piece was dry, I embossed it using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
The card base is Polished Pink, standard sized. To the front of the base, I cut a piece of Polished Pink DSP (3 3/4″ x 5″), scuffed the edges, and adhered it to the base tilted at an angle. I cut a circle from Basic White cardstock with the Layering Circles Dies and stamped my sentiment onto it with Evening Evergreen ink (again using the “stamp off” method). I added two bows to the floral piece, one with the White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and one with white twine. I attached the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals and some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels. Then, the whole piece was attached to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
