Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – March 2021
Welcome to the March 2021 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! This month’s theme is “Anything Easter and/or Spring” I chose to focus on Spring and all of the wonderful things Spring brings. What comes to mind when I think of this season is warmer weather, longer days, flowers, and butterflies.
I broke open my Butterfly Brilliance Bundle last weekend and couldn’t get past how beautiful the detailed Brilliant Wings dies are. I used the detailed butterfly dies as my feature for this card. Of course, I had to use bold, happy colors too. The Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP) provided the color for my butterflies. My color palette for this card is: Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, black, and white.
I started with a slim line card base in Basic White. A strip of Shimmery White cardstock (2 3/4″ x 8 1/2″) was water colored with Mango Melody ink and a water painter. I used a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker to speckle the water colored piece with Melon Mambo ink. A piece of Melon Mambo cardstock was cut using the Curvy Dies and attached to the water colored piece.
The detailed butterflies were cut from a sheet of Artistry Blooms DSP. I also cut a strip (1/4″ x 8 1/2″) of the same DSP for the card front. To slim line card base I attached the DSP strip 1/4″ inch from the fold. Then, I attached the water colored piece next to the DSP Strip. I added a piece of white twine tied into a bow around the front where the DSP strip and the water colored piece meets.
My sentiment comes from the Enjoy the Moment Cling Stamps. (This stamp set has such beautiful sentiments.) It was heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on black cardstock. I cut close to the words and split the sentiment into two pieces. Next, I attached the butterfly pieces to the card with glue dots placed on the butterfly body so that the wings can be slightly lifted. The sentiments were attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish the card I added Opal Rounds scattered throughout the butterfly pieces.
