Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – January 2021
New year and a new blog hop! Welcome to the Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! We will be hopping on the 2nd Saturday/Sunday of the month (depending on the part of the world the team members are from). Together we’ll be inspiring others to create paper crafting projects using our favorite Stampin’ Up!® supplies! A huge “Thank You” to Angie McKenzie for all her hard work organizing this hop!
The theme for January 2021 is “Something New”! There was not a shortage of inspiration for me this month as Stampin’ Up!® just released new Mini and Sale-a-bration catalogs. There are so many beautiful new products to choose from. For my projects, I chose products from both catalogs.
I love the images and sentiments from the Approaching Perfection cling stamp set offered in the new Sale-a-bration Catalog. My card base is a standard sized A2 base using Basic white Thick cardstock. On the front, I adhered a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock that was embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. From the Rectangle Stitched Dies, I cut out a piece of the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (DSP) and attached it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on a 1″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Basic Black card stock and heat embossed using the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The candles image was stamped 4 times across in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a 1 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock. I added Versamark ink to the flames of the candles and heat embossed them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The top of the candles image piece was cut with Paper Snips to create a wavy edge. Then behind the flames I attached frayed pieces of the gold cord from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. To finish the card, I adhered the sentiment and candle pieces to the DSP.
The Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper inspired me to create this card in a variety of colors and patterns. I made four using the patterned paper in Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, and Rococo Rose. I also made four using the plain ombre paper in Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, and Rococo Rose, but added scattered balloon stamped images from the Approaching Perfection stamp set in matching inks. The final addition was using the DSP to dress up the flaps of the envelopes to match the cards.
