Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – February 2021

Welcome to the February 2021 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! “Love is in the Air” is this month’s theme! I’m combining my love for chickens in my project that will also serve as a special card for my husband. While it’s not exactly masculine, he will appreciate it nonetheless.

I was so excited to see the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set and Birthday Chick Dies in the mini catalog. The floating hen with a balloon was too cute to pass up and I knew I could make it work with this month’s theme. I also incorporated my new obsession with blending brushes to create a bokeh heart background.

For my bokeh background, I created a template from vellum and some heart dies from the Wreath Builder Dies. I layered color, Real Red, onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using a blending brush and the template. The Wreath Builder Dies also provided my “LOVE” heart shaped balloon. My “hello” came from the Timeless Tulips Photopolymer Stamp Set, which was heat embossed on Basic Black cardstock with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The hen needed very little color, I just added a little Real Red and Daffodil Delight. Both the hen and the fence are dies from the Birthday Chick Dies. I finished my card off with twine and resin hearts.
