Luv 2 Stamp Group Blog Hop – February 2021

Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you this year and hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products. A huge thanks to Danielle D. Diaz for organizing and getting this blog hop going for the Luv 2 Stamp Group!

This month I wanted to celebrate some very special women, MOMS! Moms are very influential people, loaded with responsibility. They make sacrifices, provide security, and unconditionally love. These are just some of the reasons why they are so amazing. I’ll be sending my card to a special mom to let her know how amazing I think she is.

My card showcases the Hey chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles. I have also used a stamp from the You Are Amazing and A Touch of Ink stamp sets. The Slimline card was the perfect size for the card I envisioned. I started with an Old Olive card base (7 1/2″ x 8 1/2″) and adhered a piece of Hydrangea Hill DSP.

On the card front I used blending brushes to color the background with both Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake. I used the speckled stamp from the A Touch of Ink stamp set to stamp some texture to the bottom, tone on tone with Crumb Cake. For the corn stalks, I created my own templates using the Chick Dies and Basic White Thick Cardstock. I colored embossing paste with Old Olive refill ink and added the colored paste to the card front using my templates.

The Hen, Chicks, and hatchling were stamped, colored, and cut out. The chicks are a stamp from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set which originally had a party hat. I masked the top of the image when I stamped it so that I could complete the top shell using an egg template I created and a Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Then all of them were attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of twine was wrapped around the card front at the top and tied.

There are sentiments on the front and inside the card. On the front, I heat embossed “hey, chick!” to the die cut sign and attached to the card front with mini glue dots. On the inside of the card, I lined the base with a piece of Basic White Cardstock and stamped “You are Amazing” with Old Olive ink. To finish the card I attached the front to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
