Around the World on Wednesday – November 2020
Welcome to November’s Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! The general theme this month is “The Market” with a focus on texture. It’s Autumn in Alaska and we are heading into Winter. We have already had our first snow and the days are short and cold. This time of year also brings lot’s of sparkle and shimmer with the holiday season soon upon us.
My card this month is a super simple card that packs a lot of texture, sparkle and shine. Shaker cards may seem complicated, however this card is as easy as can be. The Snowflake Splendor Suite captures the beauty of this time of year and the coordinating snowflake sequins were perfect for the shaker portion of the card.
The shaker portion was created using a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper (DSP), Snowflake Sequins, and a clear translucent medium envelope. The DSP was placed in the envelope and the sequins were added before sealing the envelope. The excess envelope was folded over the DSP and the flap taped to the back using scotch tape. To finish off the shaker portion of the card, I added a piece of Whisper White Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and a piece of the Snowflake Splendor ribbon to tie a bow around the shaker, placing the bow to the right.
The label was created by using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and Misty Moonlight cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set with Versamark and white embossing powder. The Whisper White snowflakes were cut from the So Many Snowflakes dies. and adhered to the label. The finishing touch to the label were a few more Snowflake Sequins and Wink of Stella.
When putting this card together, I started with a standard sized A2 card base using the Whisper White Thick Cardstock. The shaker was attached to the card base using the Tear & Tape Adhesive. Then the label was attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
