Around the World on Wednesday – May 2023

Welcome to May’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme for April is “Sketch Challenge”. Today the AWOW Blog Hop Team members are sharing their sketch challenge inspiration.

My project this month is a Thank You card full of texture and interest. My card features the Gorgeously Made Bundle and the beautiful Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (DSP). The color palette for my project is: Night of Navy, Berry Burst and Basic White.

Paper Supplies:

• 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock, scored and folded at 4 1/4″ (card base)
• 2 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock (card front)
• 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the Masterfully Made DSP
• 1 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Berry Burst cardstock
• Scrap of Basic White cardstock
• Scrap of Night of Navy cardstock

The Prep:

• Stamp the script image a couple times on the 2 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock with Night of Navy ink, then add ink splatters with a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker
• Die cut the spiral binding edge from the 1 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Berry Burst cardstock
• Die cut the leaf branch from the scrap of Basic White cardstock
• Stamp the sentiment using Versamark on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and heat emboss it with white embossing powder, then die cut it using the sentiment die

Putting it all together:

• Adhere the DSP to the card base
• Adhere the spiral binding edge to the edge of the stamped card front piece
• Wrap a piece of linen thread around the card front piece and tie a bow
• Attach the card front to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals
• Attach the leaf branch to the card front with mini glue dots
• Attach the sentiment to the front using more Stampin’ Dimensionals
• Attach sequins
