Around the World on Wednesday – August 2023

Welcome to August’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme for August is “Never Ever Grow Up”. I’m so curious as to how everyone will interpret this theme. But whatever the interpretation, I am sure that the AWOW Blog Hop team will come up with some amazing projects!

For this month’s theme I used a cute little stamp set, the Bird’s Eye View Photopolymer Stamp Set. I guess you never get too old for super cute images. This stamp set features whimsical images of adult and young birds. The glasses for the birds, which I chose not to use on this project, adds an additional fun element to the set allowing for all sorts of fun ideas!

My project is a mini slimline card featuring the Birds Eye View Photopolymer Stamp Set and a sentiment from the Timeless Arrangements Photopolymer Stamp Set. The color palette for my project is: Pool Party, Night of Navy and Crumb Cake.

Paper:

• 6” x 6” piece of Crumb Cake card stock, scored and folded at 3” (card base)
• 2 1/2” x 6” piece of Countryside Inn DSP (Night of Navy Stripes)
• 2 1/4” x 6″ piece of Subtles 6×6 DSP (Pool Party Hearts)
• 1 1/2” x 6” piece of Basic White cardstock
• Basic White cardstock scraps

Instructions:

• Stamp bird images from the Basic White cardstock scraps using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and color with Stampin’ Blends (Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie)
• Fussy cut images leaving feet on the large bird and one small bird
• Add flecks of ink from a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker to the piece of Basic White cardstock
• Stamp sentiment to the bottom left of the Basic White cardstock piece with Night of Navy ink and adhere the fussy cut birds using Stampin’ Dimensionals for the large bird
• Adhere the Night of Navy DSP to the top front of the card base
• Tear about 1/2” from the Pool Party DSP along the long edge and adhere to the center of the Night of Navy Piece
• Adhere the Basic White cardstock piece to the center of the Pool Party DSP
• Attach desired assortment of Ombré Matte Decorative Dots and Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to the card front
