Around the World on Wednesday – October 2025
Welcome to October’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! We are continuing to celebrate the blog hop’s fifth anniversary this month by CAS(e)ing AWOW team member, Chris Smith, and incorporating a sketch challenge.
My inspiration for today’s project came from a beautiful card made by Chris that represents one of her “Go To” sketches. Sketches are a great way to get your creative juices flowing and different products can be used to get different looks and feels. I’ve used some holiday products for a quick card to give around this coming holiday season.
My card features the Joyful Days Memories & More Card Pack and the Basic White Memories & More Cards and Envelopes. I embellished my project with some Gold Striped 3/8” Mesh Ribbon, Traditional Sparkling Sequins, and Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. My color palette is Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, and Old Olive.
This card was so easy to put together. I used a large Basic White card base and cut it to the standard A2 card size. Then I used the Memories & More cards to cut my background pieces replicating the sketch Chris used and adhered them to the card base. I added ink from a Basic Black Light Blender Pen to add more visual texture to the background. Both the featured tree image and the sentiment were fussy cut from the Memories & More cards. The ribbon, tree, and sentiment were layered and attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Wink of Stella was used on the red tree ornaments for some extra sparkle. Lastly, gold embellishments were placed on the card.
