Around the World on Wednesday – July 2025
Welcome to July’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! The Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Team is hopping today. This month’s theme is “Tic-Tac-Toe” challenge. For our fourth month celebrating the blog hop’s fifth anniversary, we are CAS(e)ing AWOW team member, Aurelie Fabre. Aurelie uses a classic touch of techniques, layers, and texture on her projects.
The project that I’m CAS(E)ing today is a beautiful, classic Aurelie card, full of layers, texture and techniques! I hope that my card does her style justice. I added her signature style along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge that include the shadow-circle-texture elements.
My card features sneak peek products from the Peaceful Garden Suite Collection; the Peaceful Garden DSP, the Peace On Earth Bundle, and the Peaceful Greenery 3D Embossing Folder. I also used the Stylish Shapes Dies, Two-Toned Cardstock, Linen Thread, and Antique Pearls. The color palette used is Basic White, Secret Sea, Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake, Basic Beige and Pecan Pie.
My card is full of texture achieved by dry embossing, layering die cut & fussy cut elements, ripped two-tone cardstock, and visual texture with DSP & ink techniques. The shadow effect was made by using a blender brush and ink on the die cut circle around a die cut branch with leaves, then with the negative of the same die cut branch with leaves.
