Around the World on Wednesday – August 2025

Welcome to August’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! For our fifth month celebrating the blog hop’s fifth anniversary, we are CAS(e)ing AWOW team member, Rochelle Laird-Smith. Rochelle is known for her use of many layers and for creating two projects, one masculine and one feminine, using the same stamp set. This month’s theme is a “This or That” challenge with one masculine and one feminine project.

My inspiration for today’s projects came from a beautiful, classic Rochelle card, full of layers! I worked to re-create her signature style by using different mat layers and creating both a masculine and a feminine card using the same stamp sets.

The projects I created are perfect for this time of year and would make a great note to hide in a lunch box and brighten the first day of school for your little one. The sentiment can also be changed out for other occasions.
My cards feature the Just A Note Bundle and the Darling Dinos Photopolymer Stamp Set. Other products used are the 2024-2026 In Color™ 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper, the Subtles 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper, the Textured Metallic 12” x 12” Specialty Paper, the So Swirly Embossing Folder, the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, and the Iridescent Faceted Gems.

My cards were easily changed from masculine to feminine by changing the color palettes as the images used could be used for either. The color palette for my masculine card is Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Basic White, Smokey slate and a pop of Tungston from the Textured Metallic Specialty Paper. I changed my color palette to Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink, Basic White, Smokey Slate and a pop of Tungston from the Textured Metallic Specialty Paper for my feminine card.
