Around the World on Wednesday – May 2022

Welcome to May’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme this month is a sketch challenge. As always, sketches are a great way to start the creative process as elements of a sketch can be interpreted different ways. Here’s a look at the inspiration sketch and below are links to see all of the inspiration from the team this month.

I chose to feature products from the Sun Prints Suite Collection. I fell in love with the beautiful images of the Nature’s Prints stamps and the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper and used all items included in this suite. The color palette for my card is: Basic White, Night of Navy, and Gray Granite.

The Prep: I started by cutting a standard sized Gray Granite card base. Then I cut a 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and dry embossed it using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. I selected a piece of DSP and cut a 3″ x 5 1/4″ piece. From Basic White and Gray Granite scraps, I die cut a few sprigs. And lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder on a 7/8″ x 3″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock.

Putting it all together: I attached the dry embossed piece to the card base with Stampin’ Seal adhesive. Then I attached the sprigs to the DSP using a small bit of Stampin’ Seal adhesive, crossing where the sentiment will cover. Gray Granite twine was wrapped around the DSP three times and tied into a bow. I attached the sentiment above the bow using Stampin’ Dimensional. The DSP Piece was attached to the card base with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly, Elegant Faceted Gems were attached on top of the DSP.
