Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – September 2022
Welcome to the September 2022 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! This month we are showcasing our favorite Fun Fold projects. The project I’m sharing is a staple in my card base inventory and I use them throughout the year.
You can never have too many gift card holders on hand. My project this month features a super simple gift card holder. You can create several card bases to keep in your stash and quickly decorate as needed for any occasion. The products I’m featuring today are the Splendid Thoughts Bundle, the Splendid Thoughts stamp set and the Splendid Stems dies, and the Splendid Day Designer Series Paper (DSP). My color palette is Basic White, Basic Black, and Soft Seafoam.
Paper Supplies:
- 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic White cardstock, scored at 4 1/4″, 5 1/2″, and 6 3/4″
- 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of DSP
- 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock
- 3 1/2 ” x 3 1/2 ” piece of vellum
- Basic White cardstock scraps
The prep: I started by folding my card base, first at the center score then I folded the other two scores in the opposite direction. I used the the Tear & Tape Adhesive to close up the center that becomes the piece that holds the gift card. Next, I die cut the gift card holder piece to create an opening for the gift card. (See images below.)
I cut a circle from the vellum using the Layering Circle Dies and cut two leaf sprigs from a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock using the Splendid Stems Dies. My sentiment was stamped on the piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Lastly I stamped the second sentiment on the inside of the card using black Memento ink and stamped an image over the sentiment in Soft Seafoam ink.
Putting it all together: I attached the DSP to the card base front. Using mini glue dots, I attached the leaf sprigs to the vellum circle, then attached the vellm circle to the cardfront with more mini glue dots. The sentiment was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The last elements added were the Elegant Faceted Gems.
