Paper Pumpkin Alternate Project – April 2021
The April 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit, So Cool, includes a little taste of summer fun, with enough supplies to make 12 colorful, shaped cards with coordinating envelopes. Six card bases are popsicle shaped, the other six are semicircles: three watermelons and three rainbows. All of the cards are splashed with cheerful, vivid watercolor images. The kit also includes two full-size, matching sticker sheets, die-cut accents, fun embellishments, and more. The Coordinating colors for this kit are: Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Old Olive, Terracotta Tile.
Paper Pumpkin kits always include extra supplies. For this month’s alternate card I used the extra stickers, adhesives and some additional elements to create this card.
I started by creating my card front piece first. I took a piece of Basic White cardstock (3 3/4″ x 5″) and with a pencil I made light pencil marks on the edges every 1/8″ for about an inch. Then I used a blending brush and the Soft Seafoam inkpad and blended in color to create lines by masking off 1/8″ sections. (Don’t forget to erase those marks when done.) I used the small texture stamp from the kit and Poppy Parade ink to stamp a few random images. Lastly, I took the card front piece and embossed it using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.
Other elements for the card front were strawberry and the sentiment. I attached the strawberry sticker from the kit to a piece of Basic White cardstock and I fussy cut around the sticker. Then, I adhered a “nest” of twine that was created by pulling twine stands apart from a piece of white twine to the back of strawberry. The sentiment from the kit was stamped with Versamark on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed using the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then, the sentiment was simply trimmed to the desired size.
To put this card together, I started by adhering the card front to a standard sized Pear Pizazz cardstock base. I attached the strawberry and sentiment pieces using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final step was to attach the Woven Threads Sequins.
