Majestic Mountain & Mountain Air

I was so excited to see the Mountain Air Photopolymer Stamp Set and the coordinating Majestic Mountain Dies continue to be available in the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. I purchased this bundle last year and hadn’t even used it! I took about a week to play with these products and came up with 3 cards, one of which was featured in my blog last month. So, here are the other two…

I think every once in a while we should try something new and I have been wanting to try a pop-up card. After watching a recent video by Jennifer McGuire, I took the plunge. I found the technique she used to be much simpler than anticipated and the Mountain Air Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Majestic Mountain Dies were a perfect fit to replicate her card.

The color pallet for my first card is Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White. On the inside of the card, the moon is from the Mountain Air Photopolymer Stamp set stamped in Smoky Slate, the background is Misty Moonlight with Night of Navy and White Craft ink sponged to create the moonlit/starry night effect. I used the Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the stars. The trees, tree skyline and pop-up piece were cut from Basic Black cardstock. For the final touch I added some glimmer with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the trees.

On the outside of the card I cut a window and window frame with the Layering Squares Dies, the frame in Night of Navy. The Crumb Cake card front was also embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. For my sentiment, I used a stamp from the Beautiful World Cling Stamp Set on Night of Navy cardstock and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

The color pallet for my second card is Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Early Espresso, Bumblebee, and Whisper White. The card base and front is Crumb Cake, with the card front embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. A piece of Night of Navy cardstock was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder an attached to the front. The mountains from the Mountain Air Photopolymer Stamp Set were stamped from one side with Night of Navy, then turned over and stamped again over the first image with Bumblebee ink on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I added flecks of Night of Navy over the mountain images. The trees were stamped in Bumblebee, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso using the trees from the stamp set and cut using the Majestic Mountain Dies. The sentiment on this card also comes from the Beautiful World Cling Stamp Set and was stamped on Early Espresso cards stock cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The final piece is a double layer of Linen Thread around the card front.
