Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2021 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you this year and hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products.
This month’s theme is “Earth Day”! Once you are done with each post, you can click on the “Next” button to go to the next post in line or scroll down to the list of Blog Hop participants and click on a name to go directly to that person’s post. Happy crafting!
My Earth Day card is inspired by a beautiful card made by @stampinsusanwong back in August. My card features the Beautiful World Cling Stamp Set and the World Map Dies. The color palette I used is Crumb Cake, Basic White, black, Pear Pizazz, and Pretty Peacock.
Here’s how it came together. I used a standard sized Crumb Cake card base. A second piece of Crumb Case cardstock (3 1/2″ x 5″) was embossed using the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed cardstock to a 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Forever Greenery DSP leaving 1/4″ of DSP showing, then both were adhered to the card base.
I added Pear Pizazz and Pretty Peacock ink to a piece of water color paper using water painters. Once dry, I stamped my sentiment on top of the water colored spot with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Using the Old World Dies I cut the sentiment out with the circle die and cut two globes from Basic white card stock. With Crumb Cake ink, I stamped the globe base to a piece of Basic White card stock (3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″). The two globes were attached to the Basic White Piece. Using Pear Pizazz and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write Markers, I flicked a marker tip against the pen cap to add flecks of color to the Basic White piece.
A piece of linen thread was wrapped around the Basic White piece and tied into a square knot. I unraveled the linen thread at the ends. Next, I attached the sentiment piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sequins were attached with glue dots. Finally, the Basic White piece was attached to the card base at an angle with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
