Luv 2 Stamp Group Blog Hop – July 2021
Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2021 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you this year and hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products.
This month’s theme is “Christmas”! Once you are done with each post, you can click on the “Next” button to go to the next post in line or scroll down to the list of Blog Hop participants and click on a name to go directly to that person’s post. Happy crafting!
This month’s project started with some water colored paper leftover from a project featured in this last Wednesday’s blog post for the Around The World On Wednesday’s Blog Hop. The colors I used were Real Red, Poppy Parade, and Petal Pink. Using a Water Painter, I dropped ink onto a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and spritzed the drops with water. I did a couple layers and let the paper dry in between.
Once the water colored paper was completely dry, I cut off a 3 1/2″ square. Then I used the poinsettia petals stamp and stamped the image using Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I masked the first image, rotated the stamp slightly, and stamped a second image using the same process. Other images that were heat embossed with white embossing powder were the Berry branches on opposite corners of a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Vellum and the sentiment on a piece of Basic Black cardstock.
I attached the vellum piece to a standard sized Basic White card base. Before attaching the water colored piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I tied a bow around it with White 1/4″ (6.4 mm) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. The sentiment was also attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I finished the card with a few sequins.

Hi Teri! You are my kind of Christmas person! I love the colors you used and the tip on how you got the water color effect as well as the colors you used. This is a stunning card and the Basic Black is the perfect addition!
Thank you Darla! I tend to use the basic black for most of my sentiments, I really need to better mix it up.
