My Card this month features the Paradise Palms stamp set and the Palms Dies from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. It also features a technique that I CASE’d from Cindy Schuster from @thecraftycarrotco August event. My color palette for this month’s project is Basic White, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso.
The prep: I started by ripping cardstock strips (Basic White, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay) on the length of one side and adhering them to a 1/2 sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock. Then I cut a 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece from it. I stamped my palm tree images in Soft Suede and Mossy Meadow and die cut them out with the Palms Dies. The palm tops were adhered to the trunks. I also cut out the decorative border from Crumb Cake cardstock. Using the Into The Clouds embossing folder, I embossed a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment on Early Espresso cardstock with white embossing powder and cut it to size.
Putting it all together: The embossed Basic White piece was attached to a standard sized Basic White Thick card base. Then I attached the layered, color piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The palm trees were adhered to the layered piece, and a dimensional added to the top of the large palm that lays over the base. A 2 1/2″ piece of the woven ribbon was adhered over the palm trunks and a 2 1/2″ piece of the decorative border was adhered to the top half of the ribbon. A faux linen thread bow was attached to the back of the sentiment, then the whole sentiment piece was attached over the ribbon/decorative border layers with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch was the adhesive-backed sequins that were added to the layered piece.
