Global Design Project Challenge #GDP301
I must be in a creative zone as this week I was eager to challenge myself again with the Global Design Project (GDP) Challenge #301. Putting color together is a hard for me and this week’s color challenge of using Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana, and Polished Pink did not seem to be an easy task. These are not colors I would think to use together. The Global Design Project Team and Guest Designer, last month’s Color Challenge Winner Kerry Timms from the UK, made it look easy.
I was inspired by a recent card made by @simple_stamper and used the same technique to add the challenge colors to my card. The result is a sweet Christmas card with non-traditional Christmas colors. For my card I used some new products from the Mini Catalog featuring products that will be available to customers on August 3rd; Whimsical Trees Cling Stamp Set, Christmas Trees Dies, and Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper.
Strips of Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana, and Polished Pink in varying widths were attached to a piece of Basic White cardstock using an adhesive sheet. Once all my strips were attached, I added another adhesive sheet to the Basic White side. My trees are cut out using the Christmas Trees dies. I cut off the long trunks from the trees and attached them to a Basic White circle. The heat embossed sentiment and strip of Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper was attached to the circle piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added Wink of Stella and some Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.
To my Night of Navy card base I attached a large die cut tree using the Christmas Trees Dies. (I love attaching the adhesive sheets to paper before I cut my pieces!) Then added notches using to the folded edge and the opposite edge of the front, strung some white twine across, and tied a bow. The circle piece was attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
