Around the World on Wednesday – October 2021
Welcome to October’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! This month’s theme is “10 projects in 30 minutes”. This can be a challenge if you don’t have a “go to” layout for a quick and easy card. I do have some “go to” layouts, but have never really put them to a time test. My layout for this card involves the use of Designer Series Paper (DSP) for a quick addition of color and interest.
It took me a great deal of planning to ensure my process was streamlined in order to be able to complete 10 cards in the allotted 30 minutes. For example, my card involves a bow. Bows can take some time to tie so I opted to go with a quick and easy faux bow. My 10 minute prep, not included in the 30 minutes allotted for putting the cards together, consisted of the following:
-From 5 sheets of Crumb Cake cardstock, on the short edge I measured 4 1/2″ and scored, then turned to the long edge and cut at 5 1/2″
-From a sheet of DSP I cut 10 3″ x 3″ squares
-From a sheet of Basic White cardstock, cut 2 strips measuring 7/16″ x 11″
-Prepped my work area by pulling out the rest of the tools and supplies needed, removed any supplies from packages, opened ink pads, and mounted my stamps
My first step was to prepare my card bases. I stamped the pine bough images with Crumb Cake ink in the upper right hand corner and on the lower left about 4 1/2″ down, then I folded the card at the score. Then, I lined up the DSP pieces and placed 5 Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the each; at each corner and and in the center. Lastly, I attached the DSP to the card front.
Next I worked on the sentiment pieces. I stamped 10 sentiments with Real Red ink on the Basic White strips, then cut them out. On the center of the back of each sentiment I added Stampin’ Seal, a faux bow, and snipped the end of the twine attached to the twine roll. Two Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals at each end of the sentiment piece and attached it to the card front.
The final addition to each card were 3 Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. And, in approximately 30 minutes of stamping and assembling I have 10 quick handmade Christmas cards.

Beautiful cards Teri! I’ve wondering, what to do with this suite lying on the shell. I will try these!
Thank you for the inspiration!
This is a stunning little card Teri … love it!
I think these are fabulous cards and are a great design for quick multiples. It’s a great way to use DSP too. Great job!
Love your set of cards using parts of the Painted Christmas Suite Collection. Love your faux bow behind the sentiment panel. Great cards for fast reproducing. Thanks for the inspiration and for hopping with us! x
