Around the World on Wednesday – June 2022

Welcome to June’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme this month is “Let’s Hear It For The Boys”. We are focusing on creating something special for the males in our lives. The timing for this theme was perfect for me as I needed to create some Father’s Day cards.

For my boys, I chose to feature products from the He’s The Man Suite Collection. This collection consists of the He’s All That Stamp Set, All That Dies, He’s The Man Designer Series Paper and Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots. All the elements from this suite were used on my projects. This designer series paper included adorable images from 2 die cut sheets! The color palette for my card is: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Soft Succulent and White.

The Prep: I started by cutting standard sized Crumb Cake card bases. Then I cut some 4″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Crumb Cake and dry embossed them using the Gingham Embossing Folder. From pieces of Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze with an adhesive sheet attached, I die cut the plaid pieces. I punched out select pieces of die cut images from the DSP pack. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder on a 7/8″ x 4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Putting it all together: I attached the die cut plaid pieces to the dry embossed card fronts by removing the adhesive backing and pressing onto the card front. Then I attached the sentiments using Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card fronts over the die cut pieces. The other die cut pieces were attached using Stampin’ Seal or more Dimensionals to create different layers. A piece of linen thread was wrapped around the card front and tied into a bow. Lastly, Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots were attached to the card front before attaching the card front to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
