Around the World on Wednesday – June 2020

Welcome to June’s Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! This month we are sharing “all things crafty” with inspiration from the new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. We are so excited to have Cindy Schuster from Utah join us as a special guest this month. I can’t wait to see what all these talented members will be sharing this month!

With the new catalog available for inspiration, it was not hard to come up with an overwhelming number of ideas. My inspiration for this month was a combination of things; something old and something new.

When looking through the catalog, I was very excited to see the Rooted in Nature stamp set and the Nature’s Roots dies return. I didn’t use these as much as I would have liked over the last year. So, another year of opportunities to showcase this set! Then, among many of the new products that caught my eye is the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. I love, love, love this embossing folder. It goes well with the nature theme and I can see myself using this for lots of future projects.

The color inspiration came from the need to use my large collection of scrap paper. I started with an 8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Garden Green cardstock left over from the holidays, then I added some Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and Whisper White.

I didn’t have a plan going into this project and ended up with four cards. I started with an idea from page 122 of the new catalog and heat embossed the large leaf from the Rooted in Nature stamp set over the entire piece of Garden Green cardstock with white embossing powder. Then I embossed a piece of crumb cake cardstock with the new Tasteful Textile embossing folder.

I just played with different layouts using Whisper White and Crumb Cake cardstock card bases. The sentiments used were from the Rooted in Nature and the Well Said stamp sets that were heat embossed on Basic Black cardstock with white embossing powder. The embellishments were just some linen thread and Crumb Cake cardstock leaves embossed and cut from the Nature’s Roots die set.
