Around the World on Wednesday – January 2022
Welcome to January’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme this month is ” CAS(e) the Mini Switcharoo “. We are selecting inspiration from the 2022 Mini and switching it up with a totally different stamp set/suite AND color palette. Some may even use inspiration from the new Sale-a-bration or annual catalogs. With so much inspiration to choose from, I’m sure the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop Team will have diverse projects to share with you!
The catalogs are great inspiration when you may be in a creative slump, whether you CAS(e) the samples using the same products or switch the the products with other favorites. For this month’s project, I took my inspiration from page 22 of the current Mini Catalog January – June 2022 (see below). I CAS(e)’d the layout but mixed it up with a different stamp set, designer series paper, color palette and embellishments.
My project features new products from the new mini catalog and the sale-a-bration catalog: Friendly Hello Stamp Set, Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper (DSP), Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels, 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack and the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks . The color palette is Basic White, Basic Black, Granny Apple Green and Petal Pink.
The Prep: I started by using a floral decorative mask to paste emboss Shimmery White Embossing Paste to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White card stock, then set it aside to dry. Next I cut three 1 1/4″ x 2 1/8″ rectangles and fussy cut floral images from the Friendly Hello DSP. On a 1 1/8″ x 3″ piece of Basic Black card stock I heat embossed my sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder and punched the banner end. I tied a bow with the 2 pieces of the Petal Pink cotton ribbon and 1 piece of white twine. (All 9″ pieces and I pulled apart the white twine before tying the bow.) Once tied, I frayed the free ends of the cotton ribbon and a mini glue dot was used to attach the bow to the sentiment.
Putting it all together: The paste embossed piece was adhered to a standard sized Basic White card base. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals I attached the three rectangular DSP pieces, The sentiment piece, with the bow attached, was also attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The floral pieces were adhered with a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Stampin’ Seal. The final touch was to add the Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
