Around the World on Wednesday – December 2021

Welcome to December’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme this month is “Something New, Something Old”. There are many ways this theme can be interpreted. I am, once again, excited to see all of the inspiration that the the AWOW Blog Hop Team will be sharing!

I chose to use brand new product from the upcoming mini catalog along with a favorite from the current catalog. My project this month features, the Blessings of Home Bundle (which includes the Blessings of Home Stamp Set and the Flowers of Home Dies) and the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP). The color palette is simply Misty Moonlight and Basic White. The ribbon and designer series paper brought in some other neutral tones and texture.

I started by stamping my main image with Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White paper. I colored one of the flowers using some more Misty Moonlight ink and a blender pen, then cut it out using the Flowers of Home Dies. The sentiment was heat embossed on Misty Moonlight with white embossing powder and snipped it into sections.

Putting it all together: I attached a piece of the In Good Taste DSP (the tweed design) to the front of a Basic White cardstock card base. Then I tied a doubled piece of denim ribbon into a bow and snipped it for some frayed pieces. The bow was attached to a piece of vellum using mini glue dots. The die cut stamped image was also attached to the piece of vellum with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the vellum piece was flipped over to the back side in order to strategically place more mini glue dots behind the bow pieces and the stamped image. I flipped the vellum piece right side up and adhered it to the card base. The final elements added were the Elegant Faceted Gems and the sentiment.
