Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – November 2021
Welcome to the November 2021 Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop! This month’s theme is “Thankful for You”. The team will be sharing ideas and inspiration for projects that you can make and have handy to write a quick note of thanks.
This month I tried a new card size that is perfect for sharing a quick note of thanks. A 3″ x 3″ card is a bit too small and standard sized card can sometimes be a little too large. My mini slimline card is just the right size and, with a coordinating envelope, is a great way to use your ever growing stash of Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The card base is a 6″ x 6″ piece of cardstock scored at 3″. The envelope is a 7″ x 7 1/2″ piece of DSP scored on the long side at 1 3/4″, then at 5″. On the short side the DSP is scored at 1/2″, then at 6 3/4″.
My card features the Simply Succulent Cling Stamp Set, Eden Dies, and the Ever Eden DSP. My color palette is Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Gold and Basic White.
The elements that I added to my card base are:
-1″ x 6″ piece of Evening Evergreen, die cut with the border die
-2″ x 6″ piece of DSP
-3/4″ x 1 3/4″ Piece of Evening Evergreen with the sentiment stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder
-2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of gold brushed metallic paper, die cut with the small rectangular border (I snipped a couple of sprigs from this piece
-2″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Soft Succulent cardstock, die cut two sprigs
-7 1/2″ piece of gold Trim tied into a bow
-3 Evening Evergreen jewels
First, I wiped the bottom edge of the card front with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I attached the border to the DSP, then adhered both to the top of the card front with Stampin’ Seal. Then, I attached the other die cut pieces with mini glue dots. To the sentiment I attached the bow with mini glue dots and attached the sentiment piece with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The jewels were added last.
This card can be simplified for a quick stack of cute “Thank You” cards by omitting all the embellishments and using only three pieces of paper; the 6″ x 6″ card base, a 1 3/4″ x 6″ piece of DSP, and a 1″ x 6″ piece of colored cardstock for the die cut border. In this simplified version, the sentiment would be stamped on the lower right hand corner in Evening Evergreen ink. The DSP and border would be attached in the same manner as above.
