Around the World on Wednesday – July 2020
Welcome to July’s Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! The theme this month was, “CAS(e) a Team Member”. Our “Copy and Share” of a specific card may be in any number of ways such as the card layout or the technique. This month we also have a couple of special guests joining us, Kylie and Bruno Bertucci!
I chose a card from the talented Brenda Nelson. This card caught my eye because of the tree from the Majestic Mountain dies and the technique used to color them. Here is my inspiration:
For my card I combined the Majestic Mountain Dies with several elements from the World of Good Suite and used an earthy color palette. I stayed pretty close to Brenda’s original layout and also sponged my tree die cut pieces. This was a fun project and the motivation I needed to create more cards with the Majestic Mountain Dies.
As a bonus, I also CAS(e)d Bruno Bertucci who is CAS(e)ing me! I have been wanting to try his scrappy strip technique. Here is my inspiration:
Here is my take on the Scrappy Strip technique. I changed up the color palette and used some grays. My scrappy strips were made with the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. I also decided to change the layout a bit using the scrappy strips piece across the top of the card and in the portrait orientation. My husband loved his Father’s day card. (He also loved the fact that there was not one flower or piece of bling to be found on it!)

Thank you Bruno! I loved your CAS(e) of my card. I’m not really a purple person, but I had a special request at the time. Your color scheme was gorgeous. I had a lot of fun CAS(e)ing your card. Because of how I used the strips, I was able to create multiple cards rather quickly.

I like the two creations but I prefer the first, these trees in three colors, it’s just beautiful! And the colors are reminiscent of the woods in autumn, just perfect!
