Around the World on Wednesday – September 2022
Welcome to September’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme for August is “It’s a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood”. I wasn’t quite sure how to interpret this theme, but I can always use a new “thank you” card for all those occasions when someone does something extra wonderful.
I have still been playing with the Apple Harvest Cling Stamp Set from the mini catalog and the coordinating dies, the Apple Blossom Dies, which were released this month for the Perfect Partners promotion. The color palette for my project is: Basic White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Flirty Flamingo, Real Red, and So Saffron.
The Prep: On the front of a standard sized Basic White cardstock base I stamped the apple branch images with Versamark and heat embossed the images with white embossing powder. I dry embossed a 3″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. I stamped the apple branch image and extra flower images with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored the images with Stampin’ Blends and cut the colored images using the Apple Blossom Dies. The final prep was to heat emboss the sentiment using Versamark and white embossing powder on a scrap of Basic Black cardstock and cut it to size.
Putting it all together: I wrapped lined thread around the Crumb Cake piece three times and tied it into a bow, then attached it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The die cut pieces and the sentiment were then attached to the Crumb Cake piece using more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly, I added some Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels.
