Around the World on Wednesday – January 2023

Welcome to January’s Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) Blog Hop! Our theme for January is “CAS(e) the Mini Duo”. We are tasked with creating a CAS(e) using the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and/or the Sale-A-Bration brochure for inspiration!

Below is my inspiration from the SALE-a-bration catalog!

My project this month is another “Thank You” card. My card features the Thanks A Bunch Photopolymer Stamp Set from the SALE-a-bration catalog and the Country Gingham 6″ X 6″ (15.2 X 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper from the new January – April 2023 Mini Catalog. The color palette for my project is: Balmy Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Basic Black and Basic White.

Paper Supplies:

• 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Basic White, scored and folded at 4 1/4″ (card base)
• 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock
• 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Country Gingham DSP (card front)
• Scrap(s) of Basic White cardstock
• Scrap of Basic Black cardstock

The Prep:

• Stamp carrot images and fussy cut
• Stamp leaves, using stamp off for lighter hue, and fussy cut
• Adhere leaves together, then attach to back of carrots
• Fray pieces of the ribbon and adhere to the back of the carrot leaves
• Dry emboss the 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock
• Stamp the sentiment using Versamark on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and heat emboss it with white embossing powder, trim to desired size

Putting it all together:

• Adhere the DSP card front piece to the card base
• Attach the dry embossed piece to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals
• Attach the carrots using Stampin’ Dimensionals
• Attach the sentiment using liquid glue and a black Stampin’ Dimensional
• Tie a linen thread bow and attach with a mini glue dot
• Add Elegant Faceted Gems
