Around the World on Wednesday – April 2021

Welcome to April’s Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! Monochrome Rainbow Challenge is our general theme for the April 2021 Blog Hop. Each time zone will be a different color!!! My color for this challenge is Red.

I chose Poppy Parade as the shade of red to use on my project. I also chose to use the Sweet Strawberry Bundle, the Sweet Strawberry Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Strawberry Builder Punch. This was my first opportunity to play with this set and who doesn’t think of strawberries when you want to use the color red?

I started my project with blending Poppy Parade ink onto the flap of the envelope and a piece of Basic White cardstock. I used a masking technique and blender brushes to color onto the envelope flap and to create the stripes. Then I used the line art stamp of the blossoms and leaves to stamp a single image on the envelope flap and three images on the front of the striped cardstock.

The strawberries and strawberry tops were stamped with the two-step stamps in the set in Poppy Parade and Garden Green. I punched the images out with the Strawberry Builder Punch, adhered the tops onto the strawberries, and then adhered them together in a bunch. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I trimmed the sentiment piece to size with the ends cut at a diagonal.

Before attaching the card front to the Poppy Parade card base, I wrapped 3 layers of White Bakers Twine around the front and tied a bow to one side. Then I attached the card front to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The strawberry bunch and sentiment were also attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My final step was coloring some Elegant Faceted Gems with a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend and attaching them to the card front.
